South Florida Muslims Launch Elderly Assistance Program amid COVID-19.

(UPDATED 04/9/2020) – The Muslim Social Service Council, in addition to food distribution, is providing facemasks throughout South Florida to those who need them. This is part of a program launched by the South Florida Muslim Federation to serve anyone over the age of 60 amid the COVID-19 crisis. This program was designed to help some of the most vulnerable members of the community with everyday needs like Food Boxes, Meal Pick-Up and Delivery, Grocery Pick-Up and Delivery, Transportation Services and Financial Assistance.

Yunus Ismail, Executive Committee of the South Florida Muslim Federation says, “The Muslim community is always at the forefront of serving the neediest during times of crisis. We have joined forces with local and national relief organizations to get the elderly the much-needed help during the COVID-19 crisis. We are proud to be serving Muslims and Non-Muslims alike because this invisible enemy is attacking all of us. It doesn’t care if your rich or poor, black-brown or white or your education level. We must be here for each other during these difficult times. If you know of anyone over the age of 60 that needs assistance, please contact us immediately.
