Subject: Result of the South Florida Muslim Federation Executive Committee Elections for the Term 2020-22

Dear Members,

Assalam-o-Alaikum!

Alhamdulillah, after a smooth process of submission and careful evaluation of nominees, Federation Executive Committee elections were conducted on January 23, 2020 during the Bi-Annual General Body Meeting held virtually.

The following candidates were interviewed for their respective positions and were found to be competent and eligible for running the election.

Samir Kakli                 –              President

Muhammad Irshad      –          Vice President

Hisham Mohammed   –          Treasurer

Abbas Hachem            –            Member for Revenue

Junaid Akhter              –           Member for PR and Marketing

Abdul Rauf Khan        –           PBC representative 

Yunus Ismail                –           BC representative

The remaining three positions that were not up for election and continue to be held by: Afifa Khaliq, Secretary, Maha Elkolalli, Outreach Committee Chair, and Patricia Salahuddin, Miami-Dade Representative.

I would like to thank all the members of the Federation and the candidates for their participation. Furthermore, I would also like to recognize the election committee members – outgoing chairperson Junaid Akther and Moqtadir Naeem for making it a successful team effort.

We congratulate the newly elected members and hope that they are able to fulfil the responsibilities of each role to the best of their abilities.
