SoFlo Muslims Meet Haitian Community Representatives
Powerful community dinner last Friday saw leaders South Florida Muslim Federation including Samir Kakli and Maha ElkKolalli, Esq., Imam Azhar Subedar from Plano, Texas, and EMGAGE’s Corey Shrear come together with Haitian brothers and sisters to connect and collaborate and build pathways to justice, peace, prosperity and human rights.
Courageous, collaborative Haitian Americans were in attendance such as Aude Sicard, Dr. Jean Gary Joseph, Nadia Assad and Democratic Nominee for Congress Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick.
Over the weekend South Florida Muslim Federation also held special sessions for the Muslim community with Imam Azhar Subedar at Islamic Center of Broward and Islamic Foundation of South Florida.
At IFSF, an interactive family session between Imam Subedar and Mufti Sultan on ‘Importance of Religion in an Advanced World’ attracted a number of families.
