JOB SUMMARY:

The Youth Program Development Coordinator will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of dynamic, engaging, and spiritually rooted youth programs across South Florida. This includes developing and piloting unified programming at ICBR and ICOSF, supporting youth committee efforts, and drafting a Youth Program Development Manual that can be adapted by Islamic Centers throughout the region. This is a collaborative, community-facing role aimed at nurturing youth leadership, identity, and belonging within an Islamic framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Development & Implementation

  • Design and coordinate recurring youth programs, workshops, and events at ICBR and ICOSF (e.g., leadership academies, sports leagues, halaqas, volunteer service projects).
  • Ensure programs are age-appropriate and tailored to pre-teens, teens, and college-age youth.
  • Incorporate Islamic values, community service, social engagement, and mental wellness.

Youth Leadership & Engagement

  • Recruit and mentor youth leaders to take active roles in organizing events and peer mentoring.
  • Create leadership development opportunities through camps, internships, and retreats.
  • Support the growth of youth committees at each participating center.

Manual Development

  • In collaboration with the Federation’s Youth Committee, develop a Youth Program Development Manual to serve as a guide for Islamic centers across Florida.
  • Include best practices, sample programming schedules, volunteer training, safeguarding policies, and community engagement models.

Partnership & Community Building

  • Liaise with local masajid, Islamic schools, and community organizations to build collaborative youth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with parents and imams to ensure youth needs are being met and Islamic teachings are properly incorporated.

Administration & Evaluation

  • Track attendance, participation, and impact metrics for regular reporting.
  • Manage program budgets and logistics with ICBR, ICOSF, and Federation staff.
  • Provide monthly progress reports to all three supervising organizations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Islamic character and deep understanding of Islamic values and principles.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in English; Arabic, Urdu, or Spanish a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, Islamic studies, youth development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in youth development, Islamic education, or community organizing.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • Location: Primarily in-person across Broward and Palm Beach counties; occasional virtual responsibilities.
