Muslim Students In Miami Raise 25k In Relief Supplies for the Bahamas

The Islamic School of Miami (ISOM) is proud to announce their students collected and packed 25k in hurricane relief supplies, in cooperation with all their student body and parents that attend ISOM. On 10/14/2019 at 11:00 am volunteers from the South Florida Muslim Community will be loading a 20′ shipping container with approximately $25,000 dollars worth of Relief Supplies located at The Islamic School of Miami (ISOM). The shipping container will arrive in the Bahamas that week.

Naveed Anjum, Board Member of the Islamic School of Miami says,” We are extremely proud of our students, they saw the destruction that Hurricane Dorian left in the Bahamas and they came together and started collection efforts. They were able to collect a 20’ container of relief supplies with the help of their parents to send to the people in the Bahamas. We try to instill the spirit of charity with our students and they really surprised all of us with the results of their efforts”.
The Muslim Federation encourages the media to cover this important relief event so the greater American community can see the Muslim student’s of ISOM efforts working to serve others, giving charity and sacrificing their time to help those in need.
